We've been awarded ASA School of the Year!

American Sailing Association has awarded the Corpus Christi Sailing Center, Inc. (CCSC) ASA School of the Year for 1999 - Central Region.

This award is a result of ASA's formal evaluation process in which all students, from every class at every ASA training facility, are sent evaluation surveys. Scores are tabulated and the school with the highest approval ranking from each of the 4 regions of the U.S. is awarded ASA School of the Year.

This is certainly something that the entire staff at CCSC are proud of and we will continue to provide our students with the level of service they have received in the past. We want your sailing training experience to be a positive and rewarding one.

We are now a Hobie Kayak dealer:
In addition to selling new Sunfish, Laser, Optimist, Zuma and Parm sailboats, this past year we were selected to be an authorized dealer for Hobie Kayaks. We carry the full line of kayaks, made by Hobie and usually have a complete inventory of Hobie kayaks in our showroom.

    Q: What are the primary knots that sailors should know?

    A: While there are hundreds of knots one could learn to tie, each one having a special purpose, there are only 4 knots that sailors use the majority of time. These are the Figure Eight (Sheet Stopper), Cleat, Clove Hitch and Bowline. A quick search on the Internet using the search word "knot" will turn up lots of sites where you can learn to tie those knots and others.
